Jewelry Care

Congratulations on your purchase from Kokoro. Our jewelry is designed to celebrate your unique stories and emotions, and with proper care, it will remain a cherished part of your life for years to come. To ensure the longevity and beauty of your Kokoro jewelry, please follow these care instructions:

Care Guide

1. Storage:

  • Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity.

  • Use a soft jewelry pouch or box to prevent scratches and tarnishing. We recommend that you store your jewelry separately in small cloth bags, or even better in acid-free, airtight plastic bags or boxes. This will help you to avoid, as far as possible, unnecessary scratches and too rapid oxidation.

  • Keep each piece separate to avoid tangling or scratching.

2. Cleaning:

  • Gently clean your jewelry with a soft, lint-free cloth after each wear to remove oils, sweat, and debris.

  • For silver components, use a silver polishing cloth to maintain shine.

  • Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the jewelry's finish.

3. Leather Care:

  • Leather cords may develop a patina over time, which adds character. Embrace this natural aging process.

  • Keep leather dry; avoid prolonged exposure to water or liquids.

  • If leather becomes wet, pat it dry with a clean, soft cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally.

  • Stains should be removed immediately before they soak in or dry.

4. Wear with Care:

  • Remove jewelry before engaging in activities that may cause damage, such as sports or heavy lifting, bathing or whilst in bed.

  • Avoid exposing jewelry to harsh chemicals, including perfumes, cosmetics, and household cleaners.

5. Charms and Stones:

  • Inspect charms and stones regularly for secure settings. If any appear loose, refrain from wearing the piece and contact our customer support team.

  • To clean charms and stones, use a soft, damp cloth. Do not submerge them in water.

  • Some stones have a porous surface and can be affected by the exposure with direct contact with makeup, cosmetics, perfume, hairspray, oils and creams and other similar products. It is recommended to avoid direct contact.

  • Gemstones are genuine natural materials and absolutely unique. Their colors can vary and the natural inclusions and features show their unique natural beauty.

  • Certain gemstones are naturally softer and as a result over time their facetted look may soften after long use.

6. Avoid Tarnishing:

  • Silver jewelry tarnish over time. To minimize tarnishing, wear your jewelry frequently as the oils from your skin can help prevent oxidation. It will happen much faster when it comes into contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin ph.

  • When not wearing your silver jewelry, store it in an airtight container or a tarnish-resistant pouch.

7. Regular Maintenance:

  • Periodically have your jewelry professionally inspected to ensure all components are secure and in good condition.

  • Our limited lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects. Please refer to our warranty policy for details.

8. Personalized Charms:

  • If you have personalized or engraved charms, take extra care to avoid scratching the surface.

  • Cleaning these charms with a soft, damp cloth is recommended.

By following these care guidelines, you can maintain the beauty and quality of your Kokoro pieces. Each piece is designed to tell your unique story, and with proper care, it will continue to hold the memories and emotions close to your heart.
